Works in Progress – WIPS

July 13, 2010

Finally, a post with all the writing projects I have going at the moment! I warn you… It’s a rather long list. I’ve tried to include small blurbs with each of the projects. Hopefully you’ll see something you like and keep an eye out for it on the Storm Moon Press website. Enjoy!

CURRENT RELEASES:

The Keeper : Single Novella : Generation after generation, an unattached male is plucked from the same family line and sent to the home of the man they only know as Dhakir. It is a duty all men in the line are brought up knowing, but none can know which male will be called or when. Twenty-six-year-old Hadi Rahal is plucked from his fast-paced life among the brilliant lights and shallow vanity of Milan’s fashion world when he is told his uncle has passed on and he is the next Keeper. Knowing only vague legend, Hadi travels to Sétif, Algeria where his heritage waits in the form of an ancient name and sorrowful eyes he cannot turn from, even as he prays to God for the fortitude to resist.

Aric is brought to Nikola Jovanovic’s beautiful, sprawling manor in Serbia. Nikola is known the world around as master in music, unsurpassed by any, but terribly reclusive. For one year, Aric is to be his student, but in the modern day, it is easy for Aric to learn Nikola’s secrets. With a dark shadow lurking from Nikola’s past, Aric’s stubborn and promiscuous nature, the sexual tension between the pair simply explodes and Aric’s very mortal life is held in the balance.

After almost killing his newest submissive, Logan decides enough is enough and he seeks help. Help happens to be in the form of an athletic, smart psychologist by the name of Dr. Kasper Bromley. Kasper, though, soon finds himself swept up in the fantasies Logan came to him to control. Reluctantly throwing his ethics to the wind, Kasper submits himself to Logan, gambling his career, his future, and his heart on a man who craves his blood and submission.

Cowboy Up : Single Novel : North Larkin is a successful country music star. There’s only one problem his manager can see: North is anything but a country boy. In the hopes of rectifying this possible snag in North’s road to superstardom, his manager finds the Stallings Ranch and convinces Cade Stallings to teach North how to be a real cowboy.

Cade, though, finds the whole thing ridiculous. His son, Ethan, however, convinces him that the money being offered by North’s manager would allow them to move out of debt and finally make a profit off the property. Reluctantly, Cade agrees, but he sure as hell doesn’t have to like it.

Bound : Single Novel : Alex Langseth recently lost his mother and half-brother to a drunk driving accident. As a result, he has inherited a large sum of money and gone seeking a distraction from his pain. He finds that distraction in the ballet, and during one performance, he is besotted by the male lead, Ranae Bellemont. Night after night, Alex comes to the ballet to watch Ranae, to lose himself in the world of fantasy Ranae and the other dancers create.

Finally, Ranae decides to invite the hazel-eyed man backstage following a performance, hungry for more than just conversation. When Alex agrees to spend the night in Ranae’s hotel room, everything changes for both men, and the path they walk becomes precarious and volatile.

Muted Colors : Single Novel; Sequel to Bound : Brice is a struggling artist with a secret. He can see the red-headed muse that inspires his artwork. The innocent, simple-minded Trela is everything he could ever want… except sane. This book revisits the world of Bound and follows the tumultuous relationship that sparks between Brice and the muse he loves. But how can one ever be loved in return by the Muse of Insanity?

Pathos : Series; ? books long; focus still to be decided : In 2156, most of the human population has been decimated. It took only a hundred years for the vampiric virus to kill or turn 75% of the world’s free population. Vampires took control of the governments, of whole cities, ruling with their own set of values and laws. Humans in such cities are bred for food or sex, kept as either cattle or pampered pets. Outside these cities, smaller settlements of humans exist that barely eek out an existence in a world they are unprepared for.

Other Side of Night, Book One : Small Series of Novellas : Bastian had enough trouble as a broke college student in Nashville, and then he had a one night stand that turned out to be life-altering. Now, he can’t go out in the sun, doesn’t age, and has a pesky need for blood. Luckily, he meets a fellow student, Riley Montgomery, who is used to dealing with wildlife.

Co-authored with S.L. Armstrong.

Other Side of Night, Book Two : Small Series of Novellas : Nathan is a ghoul. Not in the newly-risen-dead sort of way, but more in a must-drink-from-vampires-often sort of way. Their blood keeps him alive and young, and he runs from city to city looking for the older vampires he can con into a night of passion and blood. He figures it’s an even trade: they get a meal from him, he gets another month of life.

Except the vampires don’t much like what he does, and his original master is still looking for him.

Nathan stumbles into Raleigh one night, desperate for his fix, and finds Ryan Ward. Ryan is a wealthy man, a vampire of only four hundred years, and Nathan sets to seducing him. Ryan takes what is offered and, the following night, makes an offer Nathan is hard-pressed to refuse.

There are also the books we have in mind for our fictional world, Egaea. All of those are still in the planning phase, and we have yet to nail down the plots for the Sephryn Trilogy, Nine Houses Series, or The Guild Wars Trilogy. There will be a TON of writing done in that world once we figure out what stories we’d like to tell.

I hope one or more of those has piqued your interest! You can always follow my/our progress by bringing up the Storm Moon Press Website, or looking at my Personal Website. You can also check out the pre-orders and sales for the current releases HERE. Thanks for waiting for the post!
